Infeeder : on the input side, the conical field is equipped with edge detector which cotrol the transverse movement of the portion of chain in the conical field so as to obtain the correct positioning of the chain pins and the selvedge of the fabric. Steaming : Situated at the input side of the compecting system, it ensures strong and evenly distributed steaming of the fabric, it enhances the shrinkgae effect and give a better "hand". Selvedge Cutter : The "Chain rail unit" can be equipped with a selvedge coating system or a selvedge cutting unit.
Raising unit : If the material to be treated has not been processed in a stenter, the compector can be fed by means of a "chain rail unit". This unit consists of a portion of chain referred to as "conical field", which makes it possible to restore the fabric to its original dimeions, though a suitable overfeed and a portion of chain, referred to as "straight field" that stabilises this
effect by providing the appropriate moisture content through the application of steam. On request,
on this last portion of chain, there is a possibility of fitting a selvedge coating sytem, with relative trimming unit.
Cooling System : i order to stabilise the compactig effect, the fabric leaving the compactor felts
has to be cooled. This is done by means of a conveyor fitted with a forced ventilation device, or, as an alternative, by means of a watercooled large diameter roller. Felt Belt : In the open width
compacto, the fabric is spread over a thick felt belt, passes around a small-diamter roller and is held i place by means of a teflon shoe. The belt transfers the fabrics to a larger-diameter heated roller onto which the fabric is fed in the director, which is opposite to that of the preceding roller.
The feformation in the felt belt in the area between the two rollers brings about the desired effect of compacting of the fibres. This effect is fixed by the heat of the second roller. The processis repeated on the back of the fabric by passing through a second belt and roller set. |
